Overview

On general social networks, a developer's code snippet, deploy news and job post all disappear into the same feed. DevFeed renders each post type as its own card: code, deploy, media, job.

The app is built with Expo for Android and iOS, with a Node.js and PostgreSQL backend. Every issue found in APK testing — lost sessions, a keyboard that kept closing, scrolling on small screens — was fixed on its own.

What it does

Code, deploys, media and jobs in one feed.

Typed feed

Separate cards for code, deploy, media and job posts, with likes and bookmarks.

02

Media

Images and video from the gallery, server upload, in-feed video playback.

03

Messages & rooms

Direct messages, public and group rooms, room invites.

04

Jobs

Post a job, apply with a CV, track applications.

05

Notifications

Replies, @mentions, followers and invites in one place.

06

Safety

Content filter, server-side link validation, email verification.

Challenges & fixes

What broke, how it was fixed

01
Problem

The session was lost when the app reopened

Fix

The token lives in AsyncStorage and is restored on cold start.

02
Problem

The keyboard closed while typing a comment

Fix

The draft is kept in local state so the list doesn't re-render.

03
Problem

The long job form didn't fit small screens

Fix

Composer and application modals moved to a scrollable layout.
